To provide a recording medium capable of eliminating the complication of a manufacturing process, easy to manufacture, and capable of manually superimposing plural cryptographic picture data to decode original picture data and hiding secret information by separating the original picture data being the secret information such as characters, numericals or patterns into plural pieces and ciphering them.
In this recording medium, the original picture data is decomposed by using a visual decoding type cryptographic technique, then respective cryptographic picture data are successively arrayed on the same surface of one surface of a transparent plastic substrate, or at least one optional piece of cryptographic picture data of the respective cryptographic picture data is arrayed on the surface of the one surface of the transparent plastic substrate and the other cryptographic picture data are successively arrayed on the rear surface of the other surface of the substrate, and a separating part for separating the respective picture data is provided between the cryptographic picture data.
