PURPOSE: To simplify a structure and to improve durability, by a method wherein a card rest, which can move vertically, is mounted under a scale disc, a pivotable cam is installed below the card rest, and a recording operation is performed through the vertical movement of recording card.

CONSTITUTION: A card rest 14 is vertically movably mounted under a scale disc 12. Additionally, cams 28, 28' are securly attached to opposite ends of a shaft 27, and the cams 28, 28' are positioned below the card rest 14. A control button 6 is positioned above a cover 2, and is securly connected to a control shaft 30 which can move vertically. With a control button 5 pushed, the control shaft 30 moves downward, and a lever 29 is turned. Simultaneously, a shaft 27 is spinned, and cams 28, 28' lift the card rest 14. Like this, a recording card on the card rest, instead of the scale disc, is caused to move vertically, and this permits the improvement of the durability by means of a simple structure without the occurrence of the deformation of the scale disc.
