PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of a reduction gear for a vertical roller mill by eliminating the breakage due to the bending of a hanging shaft supporting a planet frame.
CONSTITUTION: When a planet frame 8 of a reduction gear 1 for rotating a pulverizing turntable of a vertical roller mill is connected and supported through a connecting fitting 8a with spherical seats 15 externally put on the lower side of the hanging shaft 12 as well as on the upper side, even if an output flange fixed to a pulverizing table is inclined by the unbalance of load, the inclination is absorbed by the spherical seats 15 not to cause bending stress on the hanging shaft 12, allowing the breakage of the hanging shaft 12 to be prevented. Thus the reliability of the reduction 1 is improved.
