PURPOSE: To make it possible to scroll up a screen and to obtain a wide visual field angle without impairing the effectiveness of polarization characteristics by composing a polarizing sheet layer having the axis of polarization coaxial with the polarization direction of the projecting light of a liquid crystal projector from a specific uniaxially stretched polyester film.
CONSTITUTION: This reflection type screen is composed, successively from the incident side (i.e., observer side), of a light diffusion sheet 1, a tacky adhesive or adhesive layer 2, a polarizing sheet 3, a tacky adhesive or adhesive layer 2, a light reflection ink layer 4 and a base material 5. The polarizing sheet 3 is formed by using the uniaxially stretched polyester film and, for example, a PET resin with which dyes are mixed, is made into a film form and this film is uniaxially stretched to orient the molecules in the prescribed direction and to adsorb the dyes, thereby the axis of polarization of the sheet is aligned to the axis of polarization of the projector. As a result, the degree of polarization is increased and, therefore, the screen is hardly torn even if the film thickness is decreaed. In addition, the film has moisture resistance and, therefore, the good scroll up of the screen is possible.
