To provide a refrigerator capable of broadening the inside by lowering a machine chamber by disposing an evaporating pan below a compressor.
This refrigerator includes the machine chamber 22 which has the compressor 24, an electric component section 23 connected to a control device and projecting to an enclosure of the compressor 24, and the evaporating pan 27 for storing defrost water in the refrigerator outside of the refrigerator, and in which the evaporating pan 27 is disposed below the enclosure of the compressor 24. As the evaporating pan 27 is not extended to a lower part of the electric component section 23, the electric component section 23 can be prevented from being easily wetted by the defrost water stored in the evaporating pan 27, even when the defrost water waves by vibration of the refrigerator due to opening and closing of a refrigerator door, and vibration of the compressor 24 and a vibration-proof supporting device 32 in starting and stopping the compressor 24.
