Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the regeneration for use of an inorg. adsorbing material, by enabling the elution of caught cobalt from an inorg. adsorbing material.

CONSTITUTION: An elution liquid 12 controlled so as to adjust the pH value and the liquid temp. thereof to set values by injecting a Co-eluting agent 17 is recirculated to and passed through a regeneration column 9 packed with an inorg. Co adsorbing material having a Co ion caught thereby coagulated to and supported by a corrosion resistant carrier 10 as well as recirculated to and passed through a cation exchange resin column 26 to remove the Co ion from the inorg. Co adsorbing material. In the next step, the inorg. Co adsorbing material is washed by pure water and, thereafter, air is sent into the regeneration column 9 under pressure from a blower 33 to break the regenerated inorg. Co adsorbing material supported by the carrier to form an aqueous slurry which is, in turn, transferred to a thickner 36 where allowed to stand still for a definite time to precipitate and separate the regenerated inorg. adsorbing material which is, in turn, subsequently withdrawn and recovered to be re-utilized.
