Abstract:

To provide a regeneration method of a strong basic anionic ion exchange resin excellently regenerating the catalytic activity of the specific strong basic anionic ion exchange resin used in manufacturing a fatty acid ester for a biodiesel fuel.

When the strong basic anionic ion exchange resin is made by chemically bonding a tertiary amine having a pKa value of 9.8 or lower to an insoluble carrier, the strong basic anionic ion exchange resin used in manufacturing the fatty acid ester for a diesel fuel is washed with a weak acid solution, subjected to replacement of a counter ion with an aqueous alkali solution and swollen with a solvent.
