Abstract:

PURPOSE: To regenerate a non-conductive moisture adsorbent by a simple method reduced in the loss of regeneration energy, by applying voltage to the non- conductive moisture adsorbent having adsorbed moisture to evaporate adsorbed moisture.

CONSTITUTION: Because a non-conductive moisture adsorbent such as a silica gel, activated alumina, a molecular sieve or zeolite slightly takes on conductivity it adsorbs moisture upon the contact with the atmosphere, predetermined voltage is applied to the moisture adsorbent in the regeneration of said adsorbent. Almost no current is flowed to the moisture adsorbent itself and a current is supplied only to adsorbed moisture which is, in turn, evaporated by Joule heat. A current value is lowered with the evaporation of adsorbed moisture and the moisture adsorbent is not almost heated. By this method, the overheating of the moisture adsorbent is prevented and the non-conductive moisture adsorbent can be regenerated by reduced regeneration energy.
