Title:
REINFORCED ACCOMMODATING STRUCTURE FOR OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTION PART
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02129605
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accommodate and fix plural optical fibers uniformly and stably and to eliminate the excessive tension and damage of the optical fibers by forming metallic sleeve integrally with a fixed part which extends to outside a heat-shrinkable tube. CONSTITUTION:The sleeves 31 are formed in parallel at required intervals and the fixed part 32 extends from one end of each of the sleeves 31. The core parts 1a of the optical fibers are coupled at a connection part. Then, the area of the optical fiber 1 which covers the core part 1a completely is extended along the sleeve 31 of a fixation member, a heat-fusible pipe-shaped resin adhesive is inserted and sheathed with the heat-shrinkable tube 20. Then the heat-shrinkable tube 20 is heated and then shrinked and hardened, and consequently the heat-shrinkable tube 20 is shrinked, thereby fixing the optical fibers 1 and sleeves 31 are securely fixed in the heat-shrinkable tube 20 while the resin adhesive 18 is interposed. Consequently, an increase in transmission loss and the breaking of an optical fiber nearby the connection of the optical fibers 1 are reduced.
