PURPOSE: To obtain a system having a learning function without making an equipment complicated even with respect to increase the extension of an equipment to be controlled or increase in the function by relieving the load of a remote control unit with respect to the operation setting plural equipments to be controlled or functions.
CONSTITUTION: A broadcast signal sent via an optical cable 701 is received by a subscriber information receiver (HIB) 500 through a photoelectric converter 702 and a drop cable 703 and sent to a subscriber wire 620 connecting to TVs 611-613, VTRs 613, 614. The TVs correspond to remote control units(RCU) 601-603. For example, when the RCU 602 controls remotely the TV 612, the RCU 602 sends control information to be HIB 500 and controls the TV 612 by using a control code stored in the HIB 500.
