PURPOSE: To remove the end tab in short time by cutting one part of the end tab at the side coming in contact with each base metal to be welded by a punching tool in case of removing the end table which is fitted to both ends of the butt weld line of both base metals to be welded after welding.

CONSTITUTION: The end tab 3 fitted to both ends of a weld line is inserted between a punching pun 9 and base 10 after completion of the welding of the base metal 1, 2 to be welded. Then, a punching part 11 is punched by descending the punching punch 9 by hydraulic pressure, etc. and the end tab 3 is cut and removed efficiently in short time. This end tab removing method can be utilized for not only iron and steel but also non-ferrous metal.
