The system is constituted of a computer 6, a data carrier 2, a data carrier reader 5 and an antenna 6, and the data carrier 2 is fixed to the neck, train, cuff or the like of a rental costume. Management data for the rental costume management system are written in the data carrier 2. The carrier 2 has an antenna part for transmitting/receiving information by radio waves, a memory part for storing information, a control part and a power supply part in its inside, and the information of the memory part is read out or information is written in the memory part through a microcomputer. In this case, it is also possible to read out/write information from/in the data carrier 2 through the microcomputer by wired connection without using an antenna.
