Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the number of part items in manufacture and assembly, manufacturing processes, and prices as a result. CONSTITUTION: A replaceable type bulb assembly for use as an automotive headlight has an incandescent lamp 10, which has a pinch-seal part 11 whose one end is flat, and is attached on a plastic base 50 by a lamp holder 20 made of thin plate metal of a single part. One end of the holder is fastened around the pinch-seal part of the lamp and the other end is fixed to the plastic base. The lamp holder having two oppositely standing half bodies jointed with each other by a hinge part, each of these half bodies has a clamp part 33 on its one end and this clamp part, when it is fastened around the lamp in a clamshell- like manner, fixes the lamp at the pinch-seal part in cooperation with a clamp part of the other half body. The other end of each of the half bodies is terminated at a leg part 22 having a spherical gimbal end part to be RF-welded onto the base.
