PURPOSE: To prevent trouble at the start of the execution of a job and the abnormal end of a job being executed by deleting job description information on the selected execution holding job from the storage area on an auxiliary storage device when the residence time is longer than a permissible residence time prescribed by a computer system in advance.

CONSTITUTION: A selecting means 5 selects the execution holding job which has the longest holding time according job description information held on the storage area on the auxiliary storage device 3 according to the monitoring result of a monitoring means 6. A decision means 7 decides whether or not the residence time of the execution holding job selected by a selecting means 5 is longer than the permissible residence time prescribed by the computer system in advance. Then a deleting means 8 deletes the job description information on the execution holding job about which the decision means 7 decides that the residence time is longer than the permissible residence time from the storage area on the auxiliary storage device 3. Consequently, the trouble at the start of the execution of the job and the abnormal end of the job being executed are prevented.
