Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the trauma of trachea by a balloon by installing a communication duct for allowing a breathing-assistance tube to communicate with the inside of the balloon, on the breathing-assistance tube in a device comprising the breathing-assistance tube to be inserted into a trachea of a patient, and the expandable balloon for sealing the trachea. CONSTITUTION: This breathing-assistance device 1 has a breathing-assistance tube 2 provided with a balloon 5 forming a closed space 6 around the point 3 to be inserted into a trachea 4 of a patient. The balloon 5 is in a contracted state at first, and is expanded at a prescribed position. An artificial aerator 7 is made to communicate with an internal space 6 of the balloon 5 through a duct 10 penetrating through a wall of the breathing-assistance tube 2. Further the first pressure sensor 11 is connected to a capillary duct 13 formed in the wall of the breathing-assistance tube 2, and the second pressure sensor 15 is connected to a capillary duct 17 opened to the space 6 of the balloon 5, so that the operation of the aerator 7 is stopped when the excess pressure is detected.
