The reversible thermal color developing composition capable of forming relatively a color developing condition and a color erasing condition based on the differences of heating temperatures and/or cooling speeds after heating by using an electron-donating coloring compound and an electron-accepting compound, is characterized by comprising at least one kind of Zwitter ion-containing compounds in which the total electric charge in the molecule is 0 as a color developing/color erasing controlling agent, and a hetero-group-containing aliphatic hydrocarbon compound having at least one hetero-group consisting of a 6-24C aliphatic hydrocarbon group and carbonyl group, amino group, ether group, thioether group, sulfoxide group, sulfonyl group alone or a combination thereof.
