Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain excellent density and contrast even if image forming and erasing are repeated by a thermal head, etc., by specifying a thermal pressure difference of a thermal layer and its change rate.
CONSTITUTION: A reversible thermal recording medium comprises a thermal layer in which transparency or color tone is reversibly changed depending upon a temperature and which is provided on a support, wherein a thermal pressure difference of the layer is 40% or less, and a thermal pressure difference change rate is 70% or less. A thermal pressure applying unit has an air regulator 103 of a pressure regulator, a print timer 105 of a time regulator, a temperature regulator 112 of a temperature regulator, a printing head 101 of a thermal pressure applying unit, and a sample support base 102 for supporting a recording medium. The head 101 improved for measurement of a thermal pressure difference amount is used.
