In the riding type rice transplanter, a ground operating tool enabling operation of hydraulic continuously variable speed changing gear after getting off is installed in front of the machine body and the ground operation tool is constituted so that the continuously variable speed changing gear is operated to a slow-speed advancing position when the ground operation tool is operated to a traveling position and the continuously variable speed changing gear is operated to a traveling neutral position when the ground operation tool is operated to a stop position. In the state in which the ground operation tool is operated to the traveling position, an operation part of the ground operation tool is protruded from the front end of the machine body to the front and holding down of the front of the machine body is made possible by operating the operation part from above. The ground operation tool is further constituted so as to enable automatic return to the stop position.
