Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a rigid polyurethane foam excellent in dimensional stability, thermal insulation and adhesivity, by using an alternative foaming agent mixture of monochlorodifluoromethane and 1-chloro-1,1-difluoroethane. CONSTITUTION:The objective rigid polyurethane foam can be obtained by using (A) a polyol with a hydroxyl value of 350-500mgKOH/g prepared by adding an alkylene oxide to a mixture comprising (1) 20-70 pts.wt. of an aliphatic initiator 2-4 in the average number of functional groups, (2) 15-60 pts.wt. of a second initiator 6-8 in the average number of functional groups, and (3) 65 pts.wt. of an aromatic amine initiator 3-5 in the average number of functional groups and (B) as foaming agent other than water, monochlorodifluoromethane or its mixture with 1-chloro-1,1-difluoroethane. The rigid polyurethane foam of the present invention is comparable to the conventional products using R-11 as foaming agent in dimensional stability, thermal insulation and adhesivity.
