PURPOSE: To provide a ring spinning apparatus which assures the high swiveling speed of a traveler without the possibility of degradation in yarn quality.

CONSTITUTION: This ring spinning device has a drivable spindle 1 which supports a bobbin 2, a guide ring 5 which is coaxial with the axis of this spindle, the traveler 4 which swivels and forms a yarn guide part while gliding on this guide ring 5, and a deflecting orbit 7 which encloses the bobbin 2 and deflects the yarn 3 advancing to the traveler 4 within a range of the guide ring 5. The yarn portion 3a advancing from the deflection orbit 7 to the traveler 4 and the yarn portion 3b advancing from the traveler 4 forms an angle α greater than 90° on a projection surface passing the axis of the spindle and an angle βgreater than 90° on a projection surface perpendicular to the axis of the spindle.
