Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form rock wool for friction material which is not inferior to that of asbestos fiber and usable as a substitute for the asbestos fiber by improving the bending strength and appearance of rock wool through applying a specified processing to it.
CONSTITUTION: This rock wool has 0.1 to 2.0wt.% uncured phenol resin and 0.01 to 0.5wt.% silane coupling agent in the total solid substance attached to the surface, a fiber length of 1 to 20mm and a content of shot (non-fibrous material) of not more than 15wt.%.
