To provide a rod protection member for boat fishing effective for preventing the breakage and damage of a handle trigger, etc., of the grip of a fishing rod.

A plurality of rod-standing holes 1a are bored on the gunwale 1 of a fishing boat. The rod protection member 2 for boat fishing is composed of an insertion part 2a comprising an elastic hollow pipe made of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, elastomer, etc., and an exposed part 2b placed above the insertion part 2a, exposed outside and having a diameter larger than the outer diameter of the insertion part 2a. The outer circumference of the insertion part 2a is connected to the outer circumference of the exposed part 2b through a tapered part 2c, an insertion hole 2d is formed at the center of the exposed part 2b and the insertion part 2a, the maximum outer diameter of the insertion part 2a is smaller than the diameter of the rod-standing hole 1a, and the maximum outer diameter of the exposed part 2b is larger than the diameter of the rod-standing hole 1a. The upper face of the exposed part 2b is at least made of a soft material.
