Title:
ROLL MADE OF CARBON FIBER REINFORCED PLASTICS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06297589
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a lightweight inexpensive roll low in rotary inertial force and having long life by forming the outer periphery of an aluminum cylindrical body from a membrane layer made of fiber reinforced plastics and winding carbon fiber reinforced plastic around the outer peripheral part of the membrane layer.

CONSTITUTION: An aluminum different diameter pipe body having an integrated structure with a total length of 2350mm and characterized by both end parts thereof having an outer diameter of 78mm and a length of 175mm and the central part 8 thereof has an outer diameter 222mm and a length of 1600mm and the taper parts thereof having a length of 200mm and a thickness of 1.5mm is used as the innermost layer. A glass fiber fabric impregnated with a resin having a thickness of 0.1mm is wound around the outer surface of the pipe body and a pitch type carbon fiber impregnated with a resin is further wound around the outer surface of the fabric layer by a filament winding method and all of the winding layers are cured to form a CFPP pipe body 1 having such a structure that the taper parts 2 and small diameter parts 3 thereof gradually become thick with the reduction of a diameter.
