Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a roll for producing an ultraquickly cooled light-gauge strip which scarcely reacts with a molten metal and is hardly flawable by coating a ceramic on the surface of a metallic roll.
CONSTITUTION: A roll for producing an ultraquickly cooled light-gauge strip is produced by coating a ceramic such as SiC, BN, Si3N4, Al2O3, SiO2, ZrO2, MgO, AlN or the like to 200W150μm thickness on the surface of a metallic roll. The roll is improved in reactivity the resistance to flaw, etc., requires less stages for grinding, polishing, etc., has a longer life and retains the initial cooling capacity.
