Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce occurrence of skews of rollers by constituting a roller bearing such that each roller has a shallow circumferential groove at the center of the outer periphery thereof and a guide rope is disposed along a track groove to engage in the circumferential grooves of the rollers in order to prevent the rollers from escaping from the track groove. CONSTITUTION:A body 1 has on its top face a track groove 5 and on its bottom face a track groove 6. Both track grooves 5 and 6 are connected to each other by semicircular track grooves formed in end caps 2 on opposite ends of the body 1. Each end cap 2 is fixed to the body 1 by means of a bolt 7. Rollers 3 are accommodated in this track groove. Each roller has a circumferential groove 9 in which a guide rope 4 made of piano wire is engaged, thereby preventing the rollers from escaping from the track groove. Thus, a roller bearing for movement in a plane can be obtained which has reduced skews of the rollers.
