Abstract:

The cross-member (5) of a T-section cage (4) of an anti-friction bearing, especially a ball bearing, extends over the respective end faces of the races (1, 2) with clearance and has its inner portion (4) clear of the balls or rollers so that any force required for fitting the bearing is not transmitted through the balls or rollers. Damage to the bearing components is thus avoided.
