An average residual austenite amount in a rolling body 3 of a cylindrical roller bearing 10 is 10 vol% or less. An inner ring 1 and an outer ring 2 of the cylindrical roller bearing 10 are comprised of steel whose content of carbon is 0.7 mass% or more, a hardened layer which is configured by applying quenching thereto by means of high frequency quenching is formed on orbital surfaces 1a, 2a and a non-quenched portion to which quenching is not applied is formed in an inner core portion of the hardened layer. Furthermore, a residual stress on the orbital surfaces 1a, 2a is -200 MPa or less. Moreover, a difference between a residual austenite amount in the hardened layer and a residual austenite amount in the non-quenched portion is 15 vol% or more and an average residual austenite amount is 12 vol% or less.
