To provide a rolling stock drive unit suppressing a temperature rise.
This rolling stock drive unit 12 is equipped with: a reduction gear housing 13 held by an inside diameter surface of a wheel 11 to rotate integrally with the wheel 11; an input side rotating member 14 connected to a driving source; a reduction gear mechanism 15 arranged between the reduction gear housing 13 and the input side rotating member 14 to reduce speed of rotation of the input side rotating member 14 and transmit the rotation to the reduction gear housing 13: fixing members 24 and 25 arranged on an inside diameter side of the reduction gear housing 13 to be connected and fixed to a vehicle body; and sealing members 28 and 29 having the inside diameter side region fixed to the fixing members 24 and 25 and the outside diameter side region in sliding contact with an inside diameter surface of the reduction gear housing 13, and sealing an internal space between the fixing members 24 and 25 and the reduction gear housing 13. The sealing member 29 includes a lubricating oil discharge port 38 penetrating the internal space and an external space of the drive unit and discharging lubricating oil sealed in the drive unit.
