This roof tile is provided with a tile body, whose edge on the side of the eaves can be fixed to a roof body, and a locking plate capable of being mounted at the eaves-side edge of the tile body in such a manner that one end protrudes to the side of the eaves. The backside of the eaves-side edge of the tile body is provided characteristically with a locking-plate inserting hole capable of undergoing the eaves-direction insertion of the locking plate mounted at the eaves-side edge of another tile body in such a manner that one end protrudes to the side of the eaves.
