PURPOSE: To obtain a rope or a tape to be shrunk and fixed by heating, capable of firmly carrying out fixation of a structural product such as electrical equipment in good workability and prorvide a method for using the rope or the tape.

CONSTITUTION: This rope is provided with core yarn 1 comprising a thermally non-shrinking yarn group impregnated with a heat-curable type epoxy resin, band-like woven fabric 2 woven in band-like shape from thermally shrinking yarn and wrapping the outer circumference of the core yarn 1 in pipe-like shape and thermally shrinking yarn 2a for sewing the end part of the band-like woven fabric 2 wrapping the outer circumference of the core yarn 1 in pipe-like shape.
