PURPOSE: To enable a polishing object to be efficiently polished to desired continuous curvature, and further enable both upper and rear sides of the object to be polished approximately uniformly.
CONSTITUTION: The internal surface of a barrel bath 4 is formed to have such a radius of curvature as corresponding to the intended machining curvature of a polishing object 37, and the bath 4 is so constituted as to be capable of inclination about the rotational axis thereof. As a result, the object 37 can be polished to have continuous curvature along the internal contour of the bath 4. Also, when the bath 4 is internally fitted with a projection 15 for reversing the object 37, this object 37 can be reversed at a polishing process and, therefore, both sides thereof can be uniformly polished.
