A compressor (1) includes: a casing (10); a motor (20) contained in the casing (10); and a compression mechanism (30) attached to a lower portion of a driving shaft (21) of the motor (20), and compressing a fluid. The fluid compressed by the compression mechanism (30) is discharged between the compression mechanism (30) and the motor (20). In this compressor (1), a Helmholtz muffler (50) that includes a resonant chamber provided with an opening portion formed between the compression mechanism (30) and a rotor (22), at least a part of an inner wall surface of the resonant chamber being formed by an outer circumferential surface of the driving shaft (21) is provided.
