PURPOSE: To lower consumption of driving power and to overcome difficulties such as temperature change caused by intermittent use of a compressor, by varying the compressor capacity by changing the degree of eccentricity of a rotor to side plates (housing).
CONSTITUTION: When a servomotor 19 is turned in a counterclockwise direction, a worm 21 is turned clockwise and a disk cam 23 is also turned clockwise by a shaft 22. This causes shifting of a support member 24, i.e., a rotor 2 toward the center shaft of a housing 1, so that the suction volume of a cylinder chamber R is decreased. On the other hand, when the servomotor 19 is turned clockwise, the center shaft of the rotor 2 is shifted away from the center shaft of the housing 1 and the rotor 2 is moved in a direction bringing its outer surface into contact with an axial seal portion 1C, so that the suction volume of the cylinder chamber R is increased. By employing such an arrangement capable of changing the discharge rate of the compressor finely, it is enabled to eliminate intermittent action of an electromagnetic clutch and to prevent deterioration in the durability of the clutch and the compressor.
