Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a linear output characteristic for rotational angle in a rotational angle detector, using a magnetic detection element.
SOLUTION: A hall element 33 and a digital operator 36 and its peripheral circuits and the like are installed in a hall IC 30. The analog output of the Hall element 33 is A/D-converted in an A/D converter 35 to be input in a digital operator 36. The digital operator 36 operates to process the digital conversion value of the Hall element 33 output with arcsine function or arc-cosine function to convert to linear output signal by a linear output conversion function 40. This linear output conversion value is converted into an analog signal with an A/D converter 38 and output to an analog signal output terminal 44 via an EMI filter 39. The linear output converted value (digital signal) output from the digital operator 36 is also output as is to a digital signal output terminal 45.
