Abstract:

To provide a rubber composition for a tire tread and a pneumatic tire having performances on ice compatible with wet performances without deteriorating abrasion resistance.

The rubber composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a diene rubber, 3-25 pts.wt. of a block copolymer which is a block copolymer composed of a styrenic polymer block and an isobutylenic polymer block and having 10-25 wt.% of styrene content and 20-40 degrees JIS-A hardness at 23°C and a filler composed of carbon black and/or silica. The pneumatic tire using the rubber composition in the tread is suitable especially as a tire for winter.
