Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a modified styrene resin composition excellent in the balance among the strength, transparency and moldability.

CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by adding a mixture of 0.1-20 pts.wt. terpene resin, 0-10 pts.wt. petroleum wax having a molecular weight of 300 to 1,000, and 0.1-10 pts.wt. liquid paraffin to 100 pts.wt. rubber-modified styrene resin composition in which the continuous phase comprises a styrene copolymer (A) consisting of 20-90wt.% styrene monomer component and 80-10wt.% of at least one monomer component comprising (meth)acrylic acid or an alkyl (meth)acrylate and the disperse phase comprises a rubbery polymer (B) consisting of 0-80wt.% styrene polymer and 100-20wt.% butadiene polymer at a weight ratio of the copolymer A to the polymer B of (99:1) to (60:40).
