To provide a running belt control system which secures the safety of the players and moreover, enables the control of the running belt suitable for the ball games.
In a ball game simulation game apparatus, a player 1 runs or walks using a ball 3 on the running belt2 moving backward with an endless track which is made to resemble a field. Preset on the running belt 2 are a reference position area A located at the central part thereof, an acceleration area B located in front of the reference position area A and a deceleration area C located at the back thereof. Moreover, player position detection sensors 4 and 5 for detecting the playing positions of the player 1 are installed respectively on the acceleration area B and the deceleration area C. The playing position detection sensors 4 and 5 detect the playing positions of the player 1 and enables the moving speed of the running belt 2 to be adjusted and controlled during the playing thereby returning the playing positions of the player 1 automatically back to the reference position area A.
