PURPOSE: To provide a running vehicle with simple structure and a low cost, while run-on-step traveling can be smoothly perforthed.

CONSTITUTION: A running vehicle is formed so as to be capable of run-on-step traveling with revolution of each ground contact wheel 10, by arranging in line a plurality of radial support arms 9 on an axle 8, pivoting the ground contact wheels 10 on the outer end side of each support arm 9, and rotation- driving the axle 8. Braking members 11 which can switch the wheels 10 from/to one state allowing each ground contact wheel 10 only to rotate on its own axis in the designated direction to/from the other state allowing the wheel 10 only to rotate in the reverse direction in a free oscillating manner, are mounted on each support arm 9. The vehicle is also provided with a toggle spring for switching and holding the braking members 11 in the above two states, and formed so that the braking members 11 are engaged and held in a neutral position not to exert the brake action on the ground contact wheels 10 by a support bracket of the toggle spring.
