PURPOSE: To obtain a rush harvester capable of eliminating the retention of rush wastes to be the interference to the transfer of reaped rush.

CONSTITUTION: This rush harvester is equipped with a reaping pretreating part 3 for reaping planted stand rushes (S) in a mobile machine body 2, the first blowoff port (12a) for blowing off a sorting wind for sorting out a short culm length from reaped rushes, the second blowoff port (12c) for blowing a wind near plant feet in the transfer terminal end of the rushes of a reaping conveyor (B) for conveying the rushes in the transverse direction of a reaper machine body and a changeover means 25, installed connectedly to a blower 2 provided in the reaping pretreating part 3 or the mobile machine body 2 and preventing the blowoff of the wind from the second blowoff port (12c) when the reaping pretreating part 3 performs the reaping and harvesting operation and permitting the blowoff when the reaping pretreating part 3 does not perform the reaping and harvesting operation.
