Title:
S METER CIRCUIT FOR RECEIVER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6416126
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable FM reception and to operate an S meter at the time of receiving a weak input signal by adding the control voltage of a voice squelch circuit to the S meter driving voltage.

CONSTITUTION: An S meter circuit branches the output of an intermediate frequency amplifier 3 from the preceding stage of a limiter stage 4 to drive an S meter 13 through an amplifying stage 10, a rectifying stage 11, and a DC amplifying stage 12. In this case, a squelch control voltage 91 is added to the driving voltage of the S meter. Thus, deflection of the S meter is increased approximately simultaneously with operation of an FM squelch even if the signal intensity is lower than the noise level of the S meter, and the S meter is operated as if the instruction sensitivity of the S meter were increased. Thus, the S meter is deflected in a range wider than at least a minimum operation level of the voice squelch.
