This saddle riding type vehicle 1 comprises a car body frame 3 for loading an engine 2, a pair of suspending mechanisms 20 that are disposed on both sides of the back side of the car body frame 3 and vertically oscillate wheels, and a power transmitting mechanism 40 for transmitting an output of the engine 2 to the wheels 4. The power transmitting mechanism 40 has the final reduction gear 42 having an output shaft 41 for decelerating power from the engine 2 and transmitting it to the right and left wheels 4. In the saddle riding type vehicle 1, the final reduction gear 42 is arranged on the car body frame 3 so that the center position P1 of the output shaft 41 lies on the front side of the vehicle than the rear cushion 22.
