PURPOSE: To provide safety scissors with which fingers or the like are prevented from being intersected at the cutting edge of scissor blades.

CONSTITUTION: Safety scissors 10 for synthetic fiber cutting are provided with cutting edges 18 and 19 continuously formed inside, a plurality of projections 20 and 21 arranged separately in a lengthwise direction without having a cutting function, first and second slender scissor blades 12 and 15 respectively having grasping means, and means for confronting the insides of the first and second scissor blades 12 and 15 and pivotally attaching the both. When the first and second scissor blades 12 and 15 are pivotally moved proximately and changed from opening state to closing state, the cutting edges 18 and 19 of the first and second scissor blades 12 and 15 cooperatively present the cutting function and the projections 20 and 21 of the first and second scissor blades 12 and 15 are overlapped while leaving a gap.
