To provide a safety switch mechanism for an electric apparatus in which an operation member can be operated only when a constituting member is fitted to a switch portion main body in a predetermined state so as to provide safety.
An operation member 17 having a functioning portion is supported against a switch portion main body 3 constituting one part of an electric apparatus so as to be possible to be pushed down normally in an energized state to a power source OFF position. The intermediate portion of a lever member 21 one arm portion of which is equipped with a cam portion 21a sliding on a constituting member constituting one part of the electric apparatus to be mounted and simultaneously the other arm portion of which has such a length as abutting a functioning portion 17a in a non-pushed down state is supported against the switch portion main body 3 so as to be turnable. The lever member 21 is normally energized to such a position as the other arm tip can abut the portion 17a by an elastic body 25. A switch member 27 is fitted to the other arm tip portion of the lever member 21 at such a position as a non-abutting state with the portion 17a is held in the non-turned state of the lever member 21 and also as abutting the portion 17a in the turned state of the lever member 21.
