PURPOSE: To display the picture of a BS onto a television receiver by switching channels of a BS receiver through the operation of a remote control device for a television receiver.

CONSTITUTION: A free channel number for a ground TV broadcast and a channel selection signal for a BS channel corresponding to the free channel number are stored in a memory section 4 provided in a BS receiver A. An infrared ray of a remote commander 8 is received by a light receiving section 3 and the received signal is inputted to a discrimination section 5. The signal is compared with a signal read from the memory section via a control section 7 to discriminate a channel selection signal of the BS channel corresponding to the remote command signal and a BS reception section 1 is controlled to receive a required BS channel via a BS reception control section 6 based on the discrimination. A video/audio signal demodulated by the BS reception section is modulated into a required high frequency signal at an RF modulation section 2 and the modulated signal is inputted to a television receiver main body 9. The television receiver main body is controlled to receive the signal from the RF modulation section based on the signal from the remote control device 8 by a TV control section 11.
