Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a cut chain having wire connector links manufactured simply at a low cost, good cutting characteristics and no damage of a work piece by the links.
CONSTITUTION: The saw chain has generally upright plate-formed cuter links 22-28 connected by horizontally disposed wire-formed connector links 32, 34. The cutter links 22-28 cut a kerf wider than the connector links to protect the links. The links 22 to 28 cut grooves wider than the links 32, 34 to protect the links 32, 34. Bores 40, 42 of the cutter links 22-28 are larger than a cross-sectional size of the links 32, 34 permitting a limited degree of vertical movement between the cutter and the connector links 32, 34.
