To obtain a scanner device whose manufacture cost is reduced, by constituting structure for stretching a belt for driving a scanning unit of a smaller number of components and simplifying the shape of the component.
The scanning unit of the scanner device is arranged inside a housing 100. A driving mechanism for moving the scanning unit is constituted of a motor, a driving pulley, a driven pulley 17, and the belt 14 laid and turned on the driving pulley and the driven pulley 17. The scanning unit is connected to a part of the belt 14 and is movable along a shaft 12 by the turning of the belt 14. The driven pulley 17 is arranged so that the arm part of a support spring 18 is bent to the driving pulley side, in such a state that the belt 14 is laid and supported turnably by the support spring 18. The driven pulley 17 is energized so that the belt 14 so as to be in a stretched state by the restoring force of the arm part of the support spring 18.
