Title:
SCRATCH RESISTANT THICK FLAT PLATY PARTICLES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3195453
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the pressure sensitivity and to make the particles superior in speed and properties of particles by using flat platy silver halide particles having a specified aspect ratio and specifying value given by dividing the thickness of each of >50% of the particles by the interval between the twin faces.
CONSTITUTION: In a silver halide emulsion contg. flat platy silver halide particles each having an aspect ratio of <4, value given by diving the thickness of each of >50% of the particles by the interval between the twin faces is regulated to >15. The particles preferably account for >80% of the emulsion and each of the particles preferably has >0.1μm equivalent diameter. The resultant emulsion is preferably used in at least one of the yellow layers of a color negative film. A photographic product less liable to fog is obtd. without increasing graininess as compared with a product using a photographic emulsion contg. particles each having a high aspect radio and a small thickness. The resulant emulsion has satisfactory resistance to pressure fog while maintaining satisfactory graininess.
