PURPOSE: To provide the scratching resistant antidazzle film which has an excellent antidazzle property, yet excellent resolution and contrast, has good surface hardness and solvent resistance and can prevent whitening and the polarizing plate formed by using this film and the process for production thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An antidazzle layer 2 is formed on a transparent substrate 1 by coating the substrate with a coating material compsn. essentially constituted of resin beads 3 having 1.40 to 1.60 refractive index and an ionization radiation curing type resin compsn. and irradiating the coating with ionization radiations to cure the ionization radiation curing type resin compsn. The scratching resistant antidazzle film which is not high in Haze value is obtd. even if the film is subjected to a saponification treatment when the transparent substrate 1 is an acetyl cellulosic film. The coating film obtd. in the case of the of polyester acrylate and polyurethane acrylate as the ionization radiation curing type resin is excellent in terms of hardness and impact resistance. The antidazzle film and transparent substrate may be further provided with an antistatic layer 4 and a moistureproof layer. The polarizing plate is obtd. by laminating this film on a polarizing element.
