To provide a scroll compressor which effectively increases a compression efficiency.
This both-directional rotating scroll compressor 1 comprises a drive scroll 10 rotated integrally with the rotor 6 of an electric motor 4, and two driven scrolls 20 and 30 opposedly disposed on both front- and rear- sides of the drive scroll 10 and rotated in synchronism with each other. A compression chamber 41 formed of the drive scroll 10 and one driven scroll 20 is allowed to communicate with a compression chamber 42 formed of the drive scroll 10 and the other driven scroll 30 through a passage 55. By this, refrigerant compressed to an intermediate pressure in one compression chamber 41 is fed to the other compression chamber 42 and re-compressed to increase the pressure to a specified pressure, i.e., a double-stage compression is performed.
