To obtain a sealing frit capable of forming a seal at a medium temperature range and having high distortion point/high CTE by including SiO2, Al2O3, Li2O, Na2O, K2O, ZnO, BaO, TiO2 and ZrO2 at specific ratios.

The objective sealing frit is produced by compounding 50-70 wt.%, preferably 55-65 wt.% of SiO2, 0-5 wt.%, preferably 0-3 wt.% of Al2O3, 0-6 wt.%, preferably 0-4 wt.% of Li2O, 2-10 wt.%, preferably 2-8 wt.% of Na2O, 5-15 wt.%, preferably 6-12 wt.% of K2O, 0-10 wt.%, preferably 0-5 wt.% of BaO, 10-25 wt.%, preferably 15-20 wt.% of ZnO, 0-5 wt.% of TiO2, 0-10 wt.%, preferably 0-6 wt.% of ZrO2 and optionally a crystallizing agent selected from TiO2, ZrO2 and ZrSiO4. The obtained sealing frit can form a seal at a medium temperature range of 600-1000°C.
